Kyoto’s primary urban open space, Okazaki Park, in front of Heian Shrine, provides a stage for experiencing culture and art. The Park Master Plan has three design components; reuniting the park as one contiguous space, connecting the park to water’s edge along Biwakososui Canal, and reclaiming the park for people rather than automobiles.
